Practice Coalition Fundraiser

from $25.00

Oct 18, 5:30pm - 7:30pm (Saturday)
Brooklyn Flow
198 5th Avenue, Brooklyn

The Yamas are the first limb in Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga. There are five Yamas, and Aparigraha is the last of the five. It translates to mean not hoarding and non possessiveness. Practicing Yoga nowadays is often available only to those who have the time and money for it. In the spirit of not hoarding the positive outcomes of the practice itself, we will explore finding ways to share it to support others who lack the resources to practice. Join us for this special fundraiser, where Lillian Cuthbert will lead a one hour yoga class with a theme on Aparigraha.

Class will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.

All donations will go to supporting The Practice Coalition in its mission to bring Yoga for Trauma to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. All donations are fully tax deductible.

Lillian's bio:

Lillian found yoga at an early age and immediately recognized its many benefits. She fell in love with the practice and the way it enhanced her life both physically and mentally. She completed the 200-hour training at Yoga Vida in 2018 and further studied under the guidance of her mentor, Sangeeta Vallabhan. She currently has a E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance designation. She is the Treasurer of The Practice Coalition, and loves the work that organization has been able to accomplish. She is the co-founder, with Shane Allen, of Humble Warrior, through which she co-organizes and co-leads retreats and teacher trainings around the globe. In addition, Lillian is a certified Pilates instructor. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
